James Wilson is a recognised dancer, choreographer and teacher. A former British Latin American National finalist and British Latin American National Showdance finalist, James has also earned other prestigious titles and represented England in World Formation dance over the course of his competitive career. With teaching experience of over 20 years, James continues to inspire dancers of all levels, teaching workshops and guest classes across the UK and at many recognised vocational theatre colleges and dance companies creating show choreography as part of curriculum dance shows, agent showcases and creative work. His love for dance has taken him around the globe, with performances across Europe, the Middle East and America. He has toured with Pasha Kovalev’s 2015 winners tour: Life Through Dance and An Evening with The Stars of Strictly Come Dancing at The Lyric Theatre, Westend. He was original cast in the first ever theatre tour of Strictly Come Dancing created by Anton Du Beke and Erin Boag and hosted by Lionel Blair and Jane MacDonald which toured the UK for two years. He performed at The Peacock Theatre in Darren Bennett and Lilia Kopylova’s resident Westend show, Latin Fever for Sadlers Wells and throughout his career has worked and choreographed for most major pantomime companies in the UK.Further theatre and television work includes: Festival of Remembrance as Jeff Goldblum dancer (BBC1), The Voice (BBC Worldwide), Crazy for Gershwin (UK and European Tour), West End Bares; Ruby Strippers (Novello Theatre, Westend), Everybody’s Talking about Musicals (Liverpool Theatre Festival), Beauty and The Beast, Jesus Christ Superstar, Spring Awakening, Carrie The Musical, Into The Woods and Merrily We Roll Along (The Hammond, Chester), Putting on the Ritz (UK Tour), My Funny Valentine (Royal Festival Hall, London), Simply Ballroom (UK Tour), 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown (Channel 4), Pride and Prejudice (Netflix).  James has been an assistant to choreographer on BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing for three seasons and a professional dancer on two seasons of Dancing With The Stars Turkey partnered with Victoria’s Secret Supermodel, Adriana Lima. In 2025, James performed with Strictly champion and Tango legend, Flavia Cacace for various one night performances and alongside co-created the dance show Ballroom Fever which made its debut in April 2026 starring Flavia and a cast of international dance champions.Beyond the dance floor, James can also be heard on the Monday drive time BBC Radio Merseyside show alongside Helen Jones talking all things entertainment and Strictly Come Dancing. He achieved his MA in Musical Theatre in 2020 and is a member of the IDTA
