CARL GREENWOOD
Carl studied at Leeds College of Music. Whilst there, he won the Friends Prize for Jazz and
Popular Piano. He was also the pianist for Leeds College of Music Big Band and the Duke
Ellington Repertory Orchestra, which performed the European premier of Ellington’s The Drum Is
A Woman suite. Carl has worked as the MD for a number of performances and productions;
2024/25 Snow White, 2023/24 Beauty and the Beast, 2022/24 Aladdin, (Devonshire Park Theatre,
Eastbourne), 2013 Cinderella (New Victoria Theatre, Woking), staring Justin Fletcher, Zoe Salmon
and Hal Cruttenden, 2012 Dick Whittington (New Victoria Theatre, Woking), staring Stephen
Mulhern, Ashleigh and Pudsey, Strictly Swing and Divos and Divas in association with Prima
Artists and P&O Cruises, working alongside Olivier Award-Winning actress Leanne Jones and
directed by Julia Chenery; the Cheeky Chappie Brighton Fringe Festival, directed by Andrew
Lynford; the Pier Theatre, Bournemouth’s 2005 summer seasons of The Good Old Days and We’ll
Meet Again.
Carl has played with Ruthie Henshall, Clare Teal, Bobby Worth, Liane Carroll, the Kay Sisters,
Bruce Adams and has worked as arranger for singer Susan Maughan, the Lauren Samuels concert at
the Hippodrome Theatre, Eastbourne; the swing singer Shane Hampsheir, the Paul Davis Big Band,
The Brit Tones and ICC Records. Carl was the pianist at singer Michelle Heaton’s wedding, which
was shown on ITV2. He is also a freelance pianist for London’s top ceilidh band - Licence to
Ceilidh; The American Four Tops; Twist and Shout. Carl is very much in demand as a freelance
MD, player and arranger and as keyboard programmer working on
Keys 2/Cover conductor for ‘The Parent Agency’ written by David Baddiel and Dan Gillespie Sells,
“Fiddler On The Roof” at the Menier Chocolate Factory / Playhouse Theatre
(Directed by Sir Tevor Nunn), ‘The Boyfriend’ at the Menier Chocolate Factory as well as most
recently taking over as Assistant MD/Keys 2 and keyboard programmer for the UK tour of
Hairspray and keys 1/cover conductor on the UK/Zurich tour of Tina the musical.
