Joey began his training with Muriel Bordenave at Dance Industry Studios in his home town of Littlehampton. At 17, he was awarded a three-year scholarship to Bird College of dance and theatre performance. After graduating from Birds, he spent a further year at Tiffany Theatre College under the direction of Chriss Cambell-Welch on a one-year postgraduate course. While at the college, he was awarded the TTC Ballet award. Joey has also received additional training at Broadway Dance Centre in New York as well as the Sydney Dance Company in Australia.

Joey has worked nationally and internationally as a dancer, and has taught at many of the country’s leading performing arts colleges and regularly freelances as a guest teacher and choreographer. Joey holds DDE status with the ISTD in Modern Theatre Dance and Imperial Classical Ballet. Joey is also a certified  fitness instructor and Personal trainer.

Joey was an agent and co-owner of West-Pier Agency from 2021 to 2024. In 2024, Joey founded his own agency, MIH Associates (Make it Happen).
