After a successful career as a Professional Ballet Dancer spanning 15 years, Kaori moved over to teaching and is a I.S.T.D Licentiate Certified Teacher.
She started her training from the age of 5 in Tokyo and moved to London aged 17 to continue her training. She joined the Salzburg Ballet Company in Austria in 1990 where she danced in the corps de ballet and danced Soloist roles in Cinderella, Coppelia and Le Corsaire (Grand Pas de Deux). In 1992 she then joined the Ballet Schindowski Company in Gelsenkirchen, Germany, where she started in the Corps de Ballet before being promoted to Soloist in 1994 and then to Principal Dancer in 1998. Her varied repertoire included classical ballet Principal roles in Swan Lake, Cinderella and La Sylphide, contemporary works such as Beauty and the Beast, Kriminelles Kind and E Muoio Disperato, choreographed by Javier de Frutos and West Side Story. In 2003 Kaori took over the Assistant Director role at Ballet Schindowski which incorporated being the Company's Ballet and Rehearsal Mistress. Kaori has taught in Japan and Germany and now Kaori teaches classes to Professional Dancers, Vocational Dancers here at The Brighton Academy and to many students in local academies across West Sussex.
